The Airport Express Bus operates daily from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM between Kouch Kanong Circle and the airport. Stops include Canadia Garden near the railway station, the Royal University of Law and Economics and AEON Mall Mean Chey. Confirm the current fare and interval on arrival.
Official taxis, app-based cars and rental counters are also available. Use the airport’s designated pickup area, confirm the destination in writing and allow additional time during commuter hours or heavy rain.

Before you fly
Use the airport code and full airport name when checking tickets because older travel pages may still refer to Phnom Penh’s former airport. If someone is meeting you, agree on a named meeting point rather than relying on mobile data immediately after baggage claim.
Finding your way through the terminal
International arrivals pass through immigration, baggage reclaim and customs on Level 1. Departures, check-in and security are on Level 2, while additional dining is on Level 3. Follow the official signs instead of accepting unsolicited assistance. Travelers connecting between international and domestic services should confirm whether baggage must be collected and rechecked with their airline.
Bus, taxi or app-based car?
The express bus is useful for solo travelers staying near its central corridor and carrying manageable luggage. A taxi or app-based car is usually simpler for families, late arrivals, several bags or accommodation far from Monivong Boulevard. Before entering any vehicle, match the plate and driver shown in the app or use the official taxi desk; do not follow a person who only claims to be your driver.
Departure-day timing
Ask the airline when its counter opens and follow its check-in deadline rather than using one universal rule. Add time for traffic, rain and unfamiliar terminal navigation. Keep passport, boarding documents and liquids ready before screening. The terminal has retail and food options, but travelers with dietary needs or medication schedules should still carry permitted essentials rather than assuming every service will be open.
Arrival checklist
After immigration, compare the baggage tag with your claim ticket before leaving the belt and report a missing bag inside the controlled area. Withdraw or exchange only a modest first amount, connect to official airport Wi-Fi cautiously and message your accommodation after you have collected everything. Keep the baggage hall receipt, transport booking and driver details until you reach the hotel. If purchasing a SIM, understand the package and confirm that mobile data works before walking away from the counter.
Traveling with children or reduced mobility
Families should divide responsibilities before the queue: one adult manages passports while another watches bags and children. Request wheelchair or mobility assistance through the airline in advance because airport staff need the booking record to coordinate the full journey. Medication, baby supplies and essential mobility equipment belong in cabin baggage within airline rules. Allow more connection time than an able-bodied solo traveler would use, particularly when immigration, baggage reclaim and a terminal change are involved.
Common arrival mistakes
Do not assume the old airport transfer time still applies, accept an unmetered ride without a price, or schedule a city tour immediately after landing. Avoid sharing your hotel room number or full itinerary with a driver. On departure, check whether your flight is international or domestic before choosing the terminal entrance. A calm arrival with verified transport, accessible documents and one flexible first evening is more valuable than saving a few minutes through an unofficial shortcut.
